Vashon Peony Co. was founded in November 2021 by Tinuviel and Greg Jette on a 12-acre parcel of Vashon-Maury Island that was formerly used for cattle grazing. The goal of the farm is to create a sea of peonies and other flowers that have a positive impact on our climate and maintains the agricultural purpose of the Farmland Preservation zoning for this parcel. We hope to create a uniquely beautiful space for locals, visitors, and pollinators to enjoy. 

 

Soil amendments began in 2021 with several thousand specialty cut flowers and peony crowns planted late Fall. We are currently planting 11 peony fields, an heirloom garden, and additional specialty cut flowers. Our cultivation plans are climate forward and focused on sustainable, organic long-term flower production. We are part of American Grown Flowers, the Slow Flower Society, Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers, and the American Peony Society. Our mission is to be a part of outstanding domestic flower production; an essential component to eliminating wasteful, resource-heavy transcontinental cut flower shipping and a central component of Global Climate Change action.
